Blaze and Irish combine to form RHINOs 7s
The Chicago Rhinos 7s Program was established in 2013 through a merger of the Chicago Blaze and Southside Irish Rugby Clubs. The Rhinos will field two competitive sides and pull talent from the Chicago Blaze, the South Side Irish, Midwest Collegiate Athletes, and others to compete for the National 7's Championship!
The Rhinos are coached by former USA Eagle, David Fee. Coach Fee has been capped in both 15s and 7s. His credential's include: USA HS All Americans, Notre Dame 7s and Brother Rice HS Rugby Coach ('12 State Champs).
June 8 - Jailbreak 7s Tournament (Joliet, IL) - Result (1st place)
June 15 - Minnesota 7s Tournament (Eagan, MN)
June 22 - Firehouse 7s Tournament (Lemont, IL)
June 29 - Lakefront 7s Tournament (Milwaukee, WI)
July 13 - Rock & Roll 7s Tournament (Mentor, OH)
July 20 - Hard Rock 7s Tournament (Grand Rapids, MI)
Aug 10-11- National Club 7s Championship (TBA)
We will be entering at least a qualifier and open side in each of these tournaments.
Training sessions begin May 28, 2013.
When: Tu and Th at 7-9 pm
Where: Chicago Blaze Rugby Complex at 13011 W Smith Road, Lemont, IL 60439 (alternate locations to be announced)
