Who can be a Chicago Blaze Player?
What is required of me as a Chicago Blaze Player?

- Anyone who fulfills the three requirements below.
- Chicago Blaze does not actively recruit rugby players from overseas. We pride ourselves in developing US talent. However, players from foreign countries are welcome to join the Blaze. Foreign players must come to the United States (and Chicago) on their own accord, with the necessary travel documentation. Housing and, or jobs are the responsibility of the player. The Blaze may be able to assist potential new players with re-location opportunities through our player, old boy, and fan network.
What is required of me as a Chicago Blaze Player?
- Attend practices, games, and events.
- Pay player dues (see below).
- Register with USA Rugby (see below).
Other common questions and information:
- All home games and practices are at the Blaze Complex. Winter practices are at the The Core Lemont Park District.
- Carpooling is most-commonly used for travel to away games.
- Condition your body on off days. Fitness weighs heavily in D2 and D4 player selections.
- If you are unavailable for a practice or game, please inform your captains and, or coaches.
- We are more than a sport’s team and we have built a brotherhood amongst our members. We hope that players will participate in all team activities, such as, fundraisers and social gatherings.
- Blaze Kit Items. All players must purchase shorts and socks. Other items are also available for purchase. Go to Blaze Store.
- Blaze Number 1s. Following matches the Blaze required uniform is a Blue Blazer with a Blaze Patch, and a Blaze Tie. Khakis and a collared shirt are recommended. Ties and patches are available in the Blaze Store.
